About the Book

Stripped Memoir of a Male Stripper is a narrative nonfiction memoir about learning to read people in environments designed to distract them.

Over more than two decades working inside strip clubs across the United States, Blake Diamond observed how attention, money, and masculinity interact when incentives are clear and consequences are easy to ignore. The work required constant awareness—of rooms, of people, and of the subtle shifts in power that happen moment to moment.

This book isn’t a collection of exaggerated nights or shock stories. It’s an examination of how performance shapes identity, how confidence is constructed and traded, and what it costs to stay alert long enough to walk away.

Written with restraint and clarity, Stripped looks past the spectacle to examine the psychology underneath.
